The primary focus in treatment is in using natural methods of healing and modalities that will assist the body in the healing process. Naturopathic Medicine embraces the philosophy that disease is a result of the body’s response to the environmental and lifestyle influences that have impacted its ability to heal. In his private practice Dr. Pearman uses nutritional, botanical, and homeopathic therapies to assist his patients in optimizing their health.  He is currently seeing 3 generations of clients, attesting to the trust and value clients have established with him over his many years of practise.

Anne-Laure Lesoin
Osteopathic Manual Therapist
D.O – France

Hello, Bonjour,

My name is Anne-Laure Lesoin.  I’ve been working in the Whyte Avenue area, since April 2014 and I am thrilled to now be joining the team of healthcare professionals at Le Soleil Health and Wholeness.

I am registered as an Osteopathic Manual Therapist; I studied in France to get my Osteopathy Diploma. During these studies, I had internships in gynecology, otolaryngology,  and Pain services. I completed 4200 hours in theory and 2000 practical hours to complete my Diploma. In France, Osteopaths are government registered practitioners who complete a minimum of five years’ of education and training in anatomy, physiology, pathology, general medical diagnosis and osteopathic techniques.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) does recognize Osteopathy and their recommendation is for a minimum of 4000 hours of training. In addition to my formal schooling, I have taken several post-graduate courses in and related to my profession as listed below.

  • The Osteopathic approach to working with babies and childrenCourses on breastfeeding
  • Baby massage
  • Carrying babies
  • Human embryology
  • Relationship between TMJ and the body

Osteopathy is a primary health care system that is complementary to other medical practices. It is suitable for almost anyone and can contribute to the treatment and management of a wide range of conditions. Osteopaths primarily work through the neuro-musculo-skeletal system, including muscles, joints, visceral, cranial, ligament and facial systems, using holistic and patient-centred approaches.

A core principle behind Osteopathy is the idea that the body is an integrated and indivisible whole, and contains self-healing mechanisms that can be utilized as part of the treatment. No part of the body works, or can be considered, in isolation. Relevant psychological and social factors also form part of the process of patient diagnosis.

The key tools for osteopathic diagnosis include listening to the patient’s history, examining muscles, joints, visceral, cranial, ligament and facial systems, and observing patient movements. X -rays, scans and other clinical investigations are also used if required. A wide range of gentle, non-invasive manual osteopathic techniques are applied therapeutically.

I look forward to welcoming, meeting and working with my patients at my new office here at Le Soleil Health and Wholeness.

Certified Biofeedback Specialist and Supervisor, Certified Nutritional Consultant and Herbalist, Max Pulse Technician, Breast Thermography Technician

After completing her bachelor of science, Tanya taught at a college for eleven years. She was always interested in holistic medicine and in 1995 became a Certified Nutritional Consultant and Herbalist. In 1998 she received formal training in Biofeedback Therapy and began working as a health practitioner integrating her nutritional and herbalist knowledge.

Currently Tanya works with SCIO & INDIGO Biofeedback Systems which have been developed over 30 years of research. Although this device is used worldwide, Tanya was the first to bring it to Edmonton. This system works by using the measurable electrical responses in our bodies to test and correct imbalances including nutrition and homeopathy training, homotoxicology training and spinal and muscular re-education to name a few. For additional information visit www.eprbiofeedback.ca.

In addition to this practice, Tanya has begun working with Max Pulse, an FDA approved medical class two device used to measure pulse waveform and heart rate by photoelectric plethysmography. Its use provides vital information regarding arterial health, Heart Rate Variability (HRV), stress levels, Wave Type and other indices. Through periodic screenings, the before and after effects of lifestyle changes can be monitored to determine their influence on the overall wellbeing of the client.

Over the past five years, Tanya has been involved in Breast Thermography Screening. This test can detect thermobiological, chemical and physiological changes in the body by recognizing heat signatures and thermal abnormalities. This painless procedure uses infrared imaging to detect early changes in breast tissue without radiation.

As technology advances, it is widely used in alternative medicines around the world, not only to treat disease, but more importantly in the prevention of illness.

When I was a child, my favourite thing to do was to read the health encyclopedias my mom kept on the book shelf. As long as I can remember I wanted to understand how the human mind and body function. Prior to taking acupuncture at MacEwan, I studied herbs, homeopathy, aromatherapy, nutrition, psychology, personal coaching and fitness, through various different schools. As I studied acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, it tied together all of my prior learning.
Through my life, I observed family members and friends suffering with chronic mental and physical health problems, often having difficulty finding effective help and support. As I studied, I noticed how each of these Modalities could be beneficial to the challenges that seemed difficult to treat.

I experimented with many of theses areas, to provide support for the chronic health problems that I struggled with. It gave me a first hand look at the results of my studies. As I added acupuncture and traditional Chinese Medicine to this, I gained insight into how this coupled with various other aspects of health and wellness, impacted health and disease.

I believe that creating an environment, that leaves you feeling nourished and cared for is essential for healing. I believe what we eat what we think and how we love and care for ourselves become integral to the healing process. I believe that understanding and implementing knowledge in these areas impact the body, mind and the spirit. This creates a focus that is more than just a culmination of your physical symptoms , but representative of you as a whole person.

I understand and recognize the journey to health and wellness is individual and I hope to work with you to tailor the treatment you need, specifically to you and where you are at in your process. I believe that empowerment and knowledge are essential components to continued healing. Sometimes our greatest stumbling blocks can be a lack of awareness of our own needs, whether that be nutritional, emotional, postural/ bio-mechanical etc. Addressing your personal needs is an important facet of treatment.

Based on my own life experiences with chronic illness injury, trauma and loss, I hope that you will feel compassion, as we work through the process of healing together.
